Lagos LG Election: Finally, Akinsanya Emerges As APC Chairmanship Candidate For Igando/Ikotun LCDA


The controversy surrounding the chairmanship candidate for Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area of Lagos State was laid to rest on Sunday (Today) as former Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employess (NULGE), Lasisi Akinsanya was formally presented with the flag of the party as the party flag bearer in the coming council elections in the state.

On Sunday, 18 July, 2021, the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu officially presented the party’s flags to the candidates of the party in the coming election, and when Igando-Ikotun was called, Lasisi Akinsanya gleefully came forward to receive the flag from the Governor.


Hitherto, Ahmed Oseni has been on the lips of many as the candidate of the party.

Although, it was Akinsanya’s name that appeared on the list published by the party, NEWSbeat gathered that a consensus arrangement made it possible to handover the ticket to Oseni.

However, the table turned suddenly and Akinsanya emerged victorious.
