The Kaduna State government has brought fresh charges against the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, barely 48hrs after been acquitted and discharged by the court.
Trial judge, Justice Gideon Kurada had on Wednesday upheld the no case submission of Elzakzaky and his wife Zeenat, over the eight charges pressed against them by the state government. He had dismissed the case of the prosecution for lack of merit.
But not satisfied with the ruling, the State Government has filed fresh seven charges against the IMN leader at the Federal High Court.
The state Director of Public Prosecution, Daris Bayero, told Channels Television that the fresh charges had to do with terrorism and treasonable felony against the state and federal government.
He said that with the fresh charges, the court would issue an order for the arrest of Elzakzaky for him to answer the charges.
