Tinubu Hosts ECOWAS End Of Year Meeting In Abuja

 

President Tinubu is hosting the 64th Ordinary Session of the Economic Community of West African States, Heads of State and Government.

The session, which will be hosted by President Bola Tinubu, will be attended by 15 Heads of State and Government.

Countries including Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone have gathered at the Presidential Villa’s Banquet Hall in Abuja.

The meeting is being attended by the ECOWAS Commission, in addition to other relevant parties like the African Union, the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for West Africa and the Sahel, Leonado Simao, the African Union, and former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The adoption of the ECO as the region’s single currency is among the choices and agreements that the group is likely to review during its end-of-year conference.

The regional group would also discuss the problem of the coups in Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger during this summit.

Other topics include the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, bilateral relations, democracy, and climate change.
