Two Lagos Lawmakers Receive Humanitarian Awards

 

Two members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Temitope Adewale ( Ifako/Ijaiye 1) and Hon Rasheed Makinde (Ifako/Ijaiye 2), have received humanitarian awards as Rotary Club of Iju Spring decorates her third president amid funfair and glamour.

The event which was held under a tight security and in strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols saw notable names in the society president to celebrate with the new president of Iju Spring Rotarian Abayomi Bickersteth.

Speaking to journalists shortly after receiving the award, Makinde eulogized the third president of Rotary club Iju spring for his selfless service to humanity and his passion for ensuring the needy in the society are adequately catered for.

“I want to appreciate the members and leader of Rotary club of Iju spring for finding me worthy of this award and it is a charge for me to do more. When one is been given award it shows one is doing the right things, and this will spur me to do more.

“I hereby dedicate this award to the good people of ifako- ijaiye constituency II and the political class, APC who gave me the platform to exhibit my talent in representation. I hope and pray they will continue to give me room to continue on this pedestal.” – Makinde said.

While speaking Hon. Temitope Adewale, member representing Ifako-Ijaiye I, who was represented at the event by the former Secretary to the local government, Mr. Ayo Jeje said the award is distinguish coming from a thorough breed humanitarian group, as he said that Hon. Temitope is always willing to do more for his constituents.

The immediate past Governor of Rotary club district 9110, Rotarian Bola Oyebade charged the president to ensure the Rotary Club of Iju spring is better than how he met it.
“The new president has started well and he has beat our imagination from the pace he started handling the club, we are very optimistic that he will do more and better the lot of the people in the society through rotary.” – Oyebade counsel

In her own words, the district governor-elect, Mrs. Omotunde Lawson, congratulates Abayomi Brickersteth and all other executives charged them to ensure success in the new administration going forward.

In his own remark, the third president of rotary club of iju spring, Rotarian Abayomi Bickersteth appreciate all who supported him and those present for the love.

“I am delighted, fulfilled and appreciating those who have ensured this event is a success. The journey to a new rotary club of Iju spring has just began, we have projects designed for this regime, and the lead projects is “Zero Tolerance To Blindness” in Iju and its environ, we have identify some sect of people with eyes related challenges, we have concluded plans to take them up and ensure they are given adequately medical attention. Rotary is known for selfless service and we in Iju Spring want to beat the expectation of many in all ramifications. We have new members which we have just inducted and we are still on the lookout for more philanthropist who will put smiles on the faces of the downtrodden in our society.” – Bickersteth said.

Others who were present at the event were, Rotarian Remi Bello District Governor, Mr. Onalaja Bamidele, Chairman Revolutionplus Group, Mr. Omoniyi Olowe, Proprietor Quest Education Group, Dr. O. A. Otudeko Chairman, Fernim properties and Investment Limited.

Others are; Engineer, Omolade Balogun, LASTMA Commander Tajudeen Adesina, Commander Special Traffic Mayors, Hon. Ayo Jeje, Hon. Sunday Ajayi former leader of the house Ojokoro LCDA and many more.
