Xmas Celebration: Ondo Monarch Raises Caution

 

The Olu of Ilado-Akoko Kingdom, Okitipupa, Ondo State, His Royal Highness, Engr. Rotimi Ikugbayigbe has raised caution as the year draws to a close.

A statement singed by the traditional ruler in his palace at Ilado Market and released by his Public Relation Officer, Femi Ikugbayigbe stated that; none of his subjects should approach any Micro-finance office to collect fresh loans at this period, saying they should spend within their means.

He said if travelling to places for yuletide is not comfortable because of the economy and security situations in the country, the statement said they should stay where they reside and celebrate with their immediate families.

According to the statement, “I call all sons and daughters of Ilado-Akoko kingdom in Ikale land, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State to stay and spend within their means during the Christmas and news year celebrations; the taste of chicken, turkey and fried rice are not different during this period, if you cannot afford them, eat our traditional food “Pupuru” with dry fish and be joyful.”

“Your greatest gift is life and good health, if you cannot afford new clothes please, wash the old clothes and stay neat. It is righteousness that exalts a nation, adultery at this period should be avoided. Stay with your family, your body is the temple of the God Almighty.”

The statement said “If you notice any strange face around your vicinity, call the necessary security personnel immediately, we don’t want the peace we are enjoying now to be disrupted.

The trained Engineer King urged his people to pray for the peace and prosperity of Ilado-Akoko kingdom, Ikale land, Ondo State in particular and Nigeria at large.
