Head of the Interim National Government that succeeded the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Ernest Shonekan, has died.
Shonekan died at a private hospital in Lagos at the age of 85.
It would be recalled that Shonekan was the interim head of the Nigerian Government between August 26 and November 17 1993 before he was ousted in a coup led by late General Sani Abacha.
He was an indiegene of Abeokuta in Ogun state.
