Lagos Assembly Lauds Sanwo-Olu On Red Line Project

Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have applauded the governor of the state, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his commitment to bringing the Red Line project to reality during his administration.

The lawmakers applauded the governor during plenary on Tuesday when Hon.Gbolahan Yishawu (Eti-Osa 2) gave a preliminary report on the governor’s effort in completing the acquisition deal for the Lagos Red Line rail project in the United States.

They expressed delight at the assiduousness in which Sanwo-Olu handled the Red Line project which was conceptualized since the administration of Alhaji Lateef Jakande.

Yishawu stated that the acquisition was a welcome idea as transportation in the state with its SMART City Status goes beyond cars and buses.

“The trains are necessary strategic interventions that are being deployed to tackle the difficulties and the governor deserves commendations for not dropping the ball on the transportation sector,” said Yishawu.

In his contributions, Hon. Tobun Abiodun (Epe 1) said that Sanwo-Olu has touched lives of residents from the procurement of the trains to the installation of jetties especially in the Epe Division.

Tobun pleaded with the governor to do more for his constituency.

Stressing the governor’s dedication to the state, Hon. Lukmon Olumoh (Ajeromi-Ifelodun 1) noted that he had worked immensely in promoting the THEMES AGENDA of the state.

Olumoh thanked the House of Assembly for passing the Lagos State Transportation Reform Sector law and all necessary bodies complying with its implementation.

On his part, Hon. Desmond Elliot (Surulere 1), described the projects as pointers to the success of Lagos since 1999.
