Join Oniwasinmi Obaship Stool, Obasanjo, Alake Charge Odegbami

Barely three months after the demise of His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Emmanuel Babatunde Osuntogun, Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi, some notable sons and daughters of Egbaland have been appealing to former Super Eagle captain Chief Segun Odegbami to join the Obaship race.
The late traditional ruler joined his ancestors on Monday 13th of December, 2021 and his remains was laid to rest on 24th of December, 2021, after which Wasinmi town has observed a seven (7) day Obaship burial rites and stayed at home from Monday 13th – Sunday 19th of December, 2021 from 10pm till 4am in the morning.
And after the completion of the burial rite, the Oniwasinmi in Council has recommended zoning the new Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi to Egba Ale to produce the candidate or candidates that will occupy the vacant Stool of Oniwasinmi.
The regency in Council is High Chief Olori Lawrence Olusoji, Balogun of Wasinmi land who also doubled as the head of Egba Ale, dynasty of Wasinmi.
The former President Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo and Oba Dr. Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Alake and Paramount Ruler Of Egbaland have been lobbying the ministry of local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Oke Mosan Abeokuta and Ewekoro Local Government, Itori to ensure that Mathematician Segun Odegbami become the next Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi from Egba Oke-Ona.
Chief Segun Odegbami who was a former Super Eagle captain, is the proprietor and CEO of Odegbami Sport Academy and School Wasinmi, in Ewekoro Local Government area of Ogun State Nigeria.
When contacted, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa (ASA) the executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, said he has received some calls about who becomes next Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi. “But I always asked them to allow Wasinmi in Council and the Kingmakers to follow normal procedure in order to avoid Obaship crisis and not going back to the courts” he added.
He also commended High Chief Lawrence Olusoji Olori, Balogun of Wasinmi and regency for the level of maturity he played during the process thereby allowing peace to reign in the town since the demise of Oba Osuntogun.
When contacted, Chief Sunday Toriola, who is also a Kingmaker and the Oganla of Wasinmi said “Chief Segun Odegbami is the son of the soil and a member of Oniwasinmi in Council and he has never for once signify interest in becoming Oba of Wasinmi Community from Egba Oke-Ona.”
