Fire Service Stops Inferno at Lagos Market

 

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has combated an early Sunday morning inferno and saved millions worth of naira within the ojo market.

The Fire which was reported at 07:00 hours through a run in call by two men on motorcycle who besieged the nearby Ojo Fire Station that subsequently mobilized with them to the scene before the arrival of back up to eventually compliments to put out the raging Fire.

The inferno which was met well alight and had done damage was however curtailed from wrecking further havoc to remaining shops and adjoining properties.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service says the cause of the fire is still being investigated and will be made known once ascertained.

“There was no reported case of injury nor death but that of restiveness by some unscrupulous elements who want to take advantage of the Fire to loot, but Officers of the Nigerian Army from the Nigerian Military Cantonment, Ojo did well to save situation,” said the Fire Service.
