AFCON: Peseiro Warns Super Eagles Against Entertaining Female Visitors

 

…Imposes Strict Measures

 

Super Eagles head coach José Peseiro warned his players against entertaining female visitors in their camp as they prepare for a must-win fixture quarterfinal against Angola.

Nigeria for the first time since in five years reached a quarterfinal in Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament. The three-time African champions, failed to reach the R8 in the last edition hosted in Cameroon.

To ensure his boys are not distracted from the task ahead, but remain focused and committed to the course, Peseiro imposed some strict measures.

Reports has it that Super Eagles stars must not be late to team meetings, pick telephone calls during meetings. And they must obey team curfews with bed time being 11pm and must not entertain female visitors.

Also it was reported that the players have been completely cordoned off on the fourth floor of the Pullman Hotel in Abidjan. With the team’s chief security officer on all-round survellience to ensure compliance with the instructions.

“Peseiro has gone tough on the players. He warned that he will not hestitate to expel any player who flouts camp rules as they stay on course to win the AFCON,” said  a source.

“The man is just a game away from reaching the target the NFF set for him to get a new contract and as such he is not smiling or joking.”

Nigeria will battled Angola for a place in the 34th edition of AFCON semifinal. Recall the NFF pegged Peseiro’s further contract extension to reaching an AFCON semifinal.

Meanwhile, injured Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has returned to training. The 27-year-old former Enyimba FC goalkeeper was stretched out last Friday when Nigeria defeated closest neighbors the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
