Security Operatives Bar Journalists From Covering PDP Screening
Security operatives attached to the People’s Democratic Party legacy house, Maitama on Wednesday locked out journalists who were at the screening venue of the Governorship, National Assembly, and some state houses of Assembly.
Information gathered from some of the security personnel that some aspirants had raised an alarm of some injustice that may be carried out by the David Mark-led screening committee.
NewsBeatng gathered that the states that were asked to appear for Governorship, National Assembly, and state houses of Assembly are major states enveloped in one crisis or the other.
It was further gathered that journalists were not allowed into the venue in order to avoid any negative story that may emanate from the exercise.
Meanwhile, some aspirants are protesting the membership of the screening committee, “saying they will not be favorable in their decision.”
