NCC To Attend World Telecommunications Development Conference In Rwanda

 

The Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC) and sister telecommunications sector regulators are ready to attend the World Telecommunications Development Conference in Kigali, Rwanda in June, NewsBeatng gathered.

The conference would be hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), NewsBeatng gathered.

NewsBeatng learnt that the landmark conference is dedicated to driving digital transformation in line with the global Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) set out by the United Nations.

It also represent a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the international community to forge bold and innovative digitally focused strategies to help break down chronic socio-economic development barriers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a sharp spotlight on the importance of Internet access and connectivity to boost economic resilience and ensure social inclusion everywhere.

WTDC, with an emphasis on ‘Connecting the Unconnected to Achieve Sustainable Development’, aims to adopt a global roadmap for digital transformation and ultimately help put meaningful access to digital technologies in the hands of billions worldwide.

The conference presents a huge opportunity for digital economy marketers, led by the NCC,  to update the world on the progress it is making towards commercially launching 5G services on the one hand and to telecoms investors efforts by government to making the investment climate serener and friendlier.
