The Chairman of Igando/Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lasisi Akinsanya, has said that within 100 days of his administration, key sectors of the council had experienced facelift.
Akinsany said that the council had purchased two plots of land for the construction of a primary school in Isheri-Osun community.
He explained that on getting to office in July, he immediately commenced the renovation of Olukotun Nursery and Primary School.
The council chairman said that his administration had set up a committee working on purchase of GCE and JAMB forms for indigent students.
Akinsanya made this known at a press conference held on Monday in Lagos as part of the activities to mark his 100 days in office.
He explained that his administration centres on six agenda ranging from education, health, youth and women empowerment, security, infrastructural development and agriculture.
While reeling out his achievements, Akinsanya said when his administration came on board in July 2021, there was a problem of parking space within the council secretariat and so his government swang into action by creating a proper parking space that accommodates both the vechicles of the staff and visitors.
On health, the council chairman explained that his administration was able to reconstruct the burnt primary health centre during EndSARS protest into a befitting and modern one so as to serve the people of the council.
“We have also started the construction of staff clinic which we promised during our electioneering campaign within the council secretariat, it shall be completed in few weeks.
“We have started arrangement on the provision of drugs and equipment for Babajide Sanwo-Olu Primary Health Centre in Abaranje-Okerube,” he said.
He spoke on his achievements in other sectors, such as security with the construction of a temporary police post within the secretariat to accommodate police officers in Ikotun after the demolition of the former police post aftermath the EndSARS protest.
“We have sand filled and graded the Egan and Old Akesan roads. As I speak, the roads are motorable. We have also concluded agreement with contractors that will work on Ali Momodu street Ijegun, Bontex street Isheri-Oshun and Adeshina Ogunnaike street Igando,” he added.
” We have also empowered our women and youth with startup capital and support for existing business owners. We have organised a football tournament tittled Akinsanya Football Competition. We did this to engage our youth, promote love and unity among them. We also use it as a medium of empowerment by giving Cash Prizes to winners and runners-up”.
