Abiru Extends COVID-19 Relief Financial Assistance To Morethan 2500 Constituents
Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru on Wednesday extended his COVID-19 relief financial assistance to over 2500 vulnerable people residing in the district.
The beneficiaries also received direct credits in their bank accounts for the seventeen consecutive months.
This was disclosed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Enitan Olukotun, in a statement issued on Thursday.
Olukotun said ” These beneficiaries were nominated by 98 ward chairmen, Party chairmen, Community Development Committees (CDCs), Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC)leaders, Royal fathers, League of Imams, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and notable leaders in the 16 LGs/LCDAs of the Lagos East Senatorial district.
” The scheme was earlier planned to terminate in December 2021, but the Senator graciously continued in the new year as the economic headwinds occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic are yet to fully abate”.
He added ” Abiru, fondly called the #DoingGood Senator said his concern for the plight of the poor necessitated the continuation of the financial support to ease the hardship of the vulnerable at the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid.
” Categories of beneficiaries include people with physical disabilities, widows, aged, unemployed youth and women drawn from the 98 wards in the 16 LGs/LCDAs of the Senatorial district.
