2023: I Am Not An Emperor By Any Chance- Dapo Abiodun Replies Tinubu

Dapo Abiodun has reacted to a statement by a presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu on his election as the Governor of Ogun State.
It would be recalled that Tinubu, while addressing APC delegates in Ogun State ahead of the party’s presidential primary, said that without his help, Abiodun would have lost out on being the state Governor.
‘Your governor, Dapo Abiodun, could not have become governor without God’s and my support.
“Go and check the video, they did not want to hand over the party’s flag to him as the APC flagbearer for the 2019 gubernatorial election in Ogun.
“I was the one that insisted that it should be given to him,” Tinubu said in Yoruba language.

Social media users have since criticised Tinubu for what seemed like a derogatory statement towards Abiodun.
Reacting via Twitter on Friday, the governor wrote: “I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance.
“I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and I have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement I made between the Almighty God and myself. “
