A man in Kwara State has explained how frustration from his housewife made him to deliberately set their house ablaze.
The couple, according to the spokesmam of the Kwara State Fire Brigade Service, Hassan Adekunle, were living at Lekki Phase One, Eyenkorin Area in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Adekunle said that the incident happened on Sunday, adding that it was “one Mr. Kola, living in the couple’s neighbourhood who quickly notified the Fire Brigade about the house that was on fire.
He disclosed that the state Fire Service swiftly swung into action and succedeed in eliminating the ravaging fire on time and as well prevented it from spreading to other buildings in the neighbourhood.
The Fire Service spokesman added, “According to the report at our disposal, the man said he deliberately sprayed his own three-bedroom flat with petrol and then set it on fire due to frustrations from his wife.”
Meanwhile, the Kwara State Director of Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, has urged the general public to be more vigilant in their homes and/or offices, especially, keeping close watch on everyone around to prevent fire disasters.
