A fuel-laden tanker has collided with a Toyota Saloon car while ascending the Costain bridge on Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere, Lagos state.
The accident occurred at about 2pm.
As at the time of filing this report, no casualty was recorded and officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service were already at the accident spot.
However, in a statement issued by the Director of State’s fire service, Mrs Margaret Adeseye, the agency assured public safety, urging residents to do away with combustible materials within the vicinity in averting a secondary incident.
The statement read ” An Accident involving a PMS loaded tanker reported at 14:00hrs while ascending the Costain Bridge inward Iponri, Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere, Lagos.
” Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is already on ground mitigating the situation whilst assuring Public Safety and counting on the public supports to do away with combustible materials within the vicinity in averting a secondary incident”.
