Two children have died in a 2 storey building collapse at Onipanu enroute Adeleye street, LadyLark Bariga in Lagos state.
NewsBeatng gathered that the incident occurred at about 9: 46pm on Sunday and that three adult males sustained injuries.
Eyewitnesses informed NewsBeatng that those injured were taken to nearby hospitals when the officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) got to the place.
Giving more details on the incident, the Permanent Secretary, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, in a statement issued said “The attention of first responders has been drawn to a building collapse at onipanu enroute adeleye street lady lark Bariga, Yaba Lagos.
” The distress call was received by responders at about 9:46pm today. The Agency activated its response to the above incident and upon arrival at the incident scene, discovered that the tank scaffolding of a 2 Storey building collapsed on a bungalow beside it and affected two rooms.
” Unfortunately 2 children died from the impact. 3 adult males sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.
” The Agency’s response team alongside Lagos State Fire and LASBCA responders are on standby at the incident scene. Operation ongoing and more Updates to follow”.
