Says Hoodlums With Dangerous Weapons Beat Market Men, Women For Receiving PDP Campaign Souvenir

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos state,  has accused the Chairperson of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayoress Samiat Bada of sponsoring the blocking of Ikosi Fruit market entrance preventing its Deputy Governorship candidate, Ms Funke Akindele and her entourage from accessing the market.

Lagos PDP made this accusation in a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary, Mr Hakeem Amode on Tuesday.

The party said that hoodlums who followed the Council Chairperson to the market welded dangerous weapons and beat Market men and women for receiving the PDP campaign souvenirs.

The statement read in part ” The JandorFunke 2023 campaign ward tour train today was attacked at Ikosi fruits market by hoodlums led by the LCDA chairperson.

” The incident occured when the Deputy Governor’s campaign team went to sensitize the people of Ikosi market today and upon arriving at the market, the LCDA Chairperson popularly called Mayoress came with her Toyota Camry car and blocked the market entrance preventing the Deputy Governor entourage from accessing the market while several hoodlums following her caused chaos making everyone to flee the environment.

” The hoodlums who were welding dangerous weapons while beating and harassing retailers who had earlier received the campaign souvenir from the campaign team.

” The Deputy Governor campaign team retreated from campaigning in the market to forestall mayhem.

” The need for the Independent National Electoral Commission. the Nigeria Police and Everyother security agencies to rise to the occasion of cautioning those poised for violence in the coming election can not be overemphasized”.

Lagos PDP added ” We are by this report calling on our teaming supporters not to be intimidated by the current government because their days in the office is numbered and people of Lagos will use their vote to choose a new government come February 25 and March 11 2023 respectfully”.
