Former EFCC Chair, Bawa Freed After 120 Days In DSS Custody

The Department of State Services has released the immediate past Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdurasheed Bawa from its custody since he was detained in June 14, 2023.

Bawa was arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS) hours after his suspension from office as EFCC Chairman by President Bola Tinubu for allegedly abusing his office.

His continued detention had been criticised heavily because the DSS didn’t charge against him to court for any specific offence.

Bawa was released on Wednesday night.
