Police Council Confirms Egbetokun As IGP

 

The Police Council has confirmed Kayode Egbetokun as the substantive Inspector General of Police.

The council announced the confirmation after a meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja with President Bola Tinubu.

President Tinubu, in June, appointed Egbetokun, a former Deputy Inspector-general of Police, DIG as the acting IGP.

The police council meeting is usually attended by 36 state governors and the minister of the federal capital territory (FCT).

The governor of each of the states of the federation, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and the Inspector-General of Police make up the Council.
