Meeting With Tinubu On Ondo Political Crisis Cancelled


The meeting between President Bola Tinubu and stakeholders from Ondo State over the political crisis in the state has been cancelled, WesternPost can exclusively report.

It was earlier reported that Tinubu was scheduled to meet with stakeholders in the state at which included the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, members of the state house of assembly, appointees of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and other leaders from the state.

The meeting slated for 2:00pm was meant to put to bed the crisis which had engulfed the state involving Akeredolu and his deputy with the assembly commencing impeachment proceedings against Akeredolu.

It was reported that some members of the assembly had finalised plans to declare Akeredolu incapacitated before Tinubu called for the meeting today.

There is no clear reason, for the calculation of the meeting, but presidency sources said the meeting would be rescheduled for a later date.

Before the cancellation, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, and some members of the House were sighted at the Presidential Villa.

Also sighted is Babajide Akeredolu, son of Governor Aleredolu.

The Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was yet to arrive when the announcement of the cancellation was made.
