BREAKING: UK Bans Health Workers From Bringing Dependants

The United Kingdom (UK) has banned Health workers and Care givers from bringing in their dependants to the country.

This was made known by the UK Home Office in a very terse statement via its verified X handle (formerly Twitter) on Monday.

“From today, care workers entering the UK on Health and Care Worker visas can no longer bring dependants,” it read.

Reacting to the shocking development, several X users have declared their displeasure over the announcement, as they noted it was a disrespectful treatment to the health workers.

One X users with handle @aladejanadeji wrote: “So you expect them to come in to come take care of your families, but they should leave their families back in their country?”

Another user @anataboga noted: “14% of UK citizens are immigrants.

19% of NHS & care staff are immigrants. This policy will disincentivise immigrants wishing to work in the NHS & care sector. This policy will cause more NHS & care staff shortages, lead to longer NHS waits and increased care costs.

@Heccles94 wrote: A disgusting assault on caring professions. Choosing racism over practicality. We have 160k social care vacancies.”

The UK government are yet to react as at the time of filing this report
