BREAKING: Channels TV Journalist Kidnapped In Rivers

Gunmen have abducted Channels Television journalist, Mr. Joshua Rogers, from his home in Rumuosi, Rivers State, on Thursday night.

According to reports, Rogers, known for covering the Rivers State Government House, was followed from work to his residence before being accosted by the assailants. They brandished a firearm, seized him, and drove off with him and his vehicle around 9 pm.

An anonymous source said Rogers had previously attended an event in Ndoni, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara inaugurated a Primary Healthcare Centre.

The facility, donated to the state by the PAMO Educational Foundation, was established by former Rivers governor, Dr. Peter Odili, earlier that day.

The source disclosed, “Yes, he was kidnapped last night at his residence in Rumuosi and taken away in his car by some unknown gunmen.

“We are appealing to the kidnappers to release him immediately and unhurt. He is just a journalist doing his job and not a moneybags. So I don’t know the purpose of his kidnap.”

Additionally, it was reported that the criminals had contacted his wife, demanding a ransom of N30 million for his release.

Spokesperson for the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, is yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
