BREAKING! Cholera: Death Toll Rises To 29 As Lagos Govt Warns Against Crowded Gatherings 


The Lagos State Government has disclosed that no fewer than five additional deaths have been recorded across healthcare facilities in the state, increasing the death toll to 29.

Also, the government disclosed further that 579 cases have been recorded so far across the state.

Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made this disclosure on Monday during a press briefing held in Ikeja.

Abayomi intimated residents on efforts to curb the spread across Lagos, warning against crowded gatherings to avoid the spread.

He said Cholera is ‘highly’ contagious, saying that residents should maintain high level of domestic and environmental hygiene.

“Any contact with an infected person will lead to transmission”, said Abayomi.
