Members of the Lagos state House of Assembly have confirmed 22 Commissioner-nominees out of the 39 names forwarded to them by the governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu few weeks ago.

The lawmakers made the confirmation on Wednesday during plenary session.

Part of those confirmed were; Hon. Ibrahim Layode, former lawmaker who represented Badagry 1, Tokunbo Wahab and Moruf Akinderu.

Some of those not confirmed were; Gbenga Omotosho, Folashade Adefisoye, Lekan Fatodu, Prof. Abayomi, and Dr Rotimi Fashola.

Speaker of the House, Rt. (Hon) Mudashiru Obasa, said the confirmation followed rigorous and detailed screening of the nominees by a ad-hoc committee led by the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Fatai Mojeed.

He commended the committee for its effectiveness and urged the confirmed nominees to always remember that they are in office to serve the people of the State and not individuals.

Obasa also promised that the House would continue to do its best in the interest of the State.

The confirmation was done through a voice vote as Obasa mentioned the name of each of the nominees.
